This is where it all began, my first invitation design and it is special because it was for a dear friend. Dhara Jain is an extremely talented art director and a wonderful human being, and designing a wedding invite with her was an exciting and fun process. Dhara’s invitation is a reflection of her personality– unique, quirky and very stylish.
This non-traditional invitation is made of cloth envelopes instead of paper. The envelope is made with a silver brocade fabric lined with a green raw silk that is trimmed with an electric blue lace. Dhara picked her elements as carefully as she would pick props for her sets to dress this invite just right.
The insert was gold foiled on a metallic fuchsia pink paper. Since there was so much happening on the envelope, we decided to keep the insert as simple as possible. One of the most special parts to this invitation was the typeface I got to design for Dhara to typeset their names.
